The Internet of Things (IoT) is a term that has been affirmed in several areas of society as in industry, agriculture, medicine and city management, among others.
Given the breadth of this set of technologies, its definition has not been consensual, yet the Internet Society defines IoT broadly as “the extension of network connectivity and computing capacity to objects, devices, sensors, and other artifacts that do not normally are considered computers. ”
Although in reality half the world’s population does not have access to the Internet, the truth is that there are more objects connected to the Internet than humans on the planet. In our reality, many of us already use IoT without knowing that we were using this type of technology, such as in monitoring traffic through the Internet or in simple research on the weather in real time.
