PAprICa

– Enhancing Learning with the Internet of Things –

PAprICa is a research project that aims to understand the contribution that Internet of Things can add to educational environments. Thus, technological and didactic resources were developed for the use of the Internet of Things as a didactic resource in educational contexts, essentially focused on the 3rd Cycle of Basic Education (7th to 9th grade).

The Internet od Things devices and Guides were developed for teachers and students to promote and mobilize knowledge of Natural Sciences, Physics, Chemistry, Geography and Mathematics.

To develop IoT devices we opted for open and low cost technology to facilitate their adoption and use. All Guides (devices construction and didactics) are shared openly for teachers, students or interested parties to free use.

In a second phase of PAprICa it is estimated that a network of IoT devices  will be created in several schools that will share data in real time and that can be used by other schools/students in different places of the country.

With PAprICa devices it’s possible to obtain data of Humidity, Temperature, Atmospheric Pressure, UV Index, Moisture and pH of the soil and presence of gases.
